Tonia Dunn
With a passion for all things creative, from a young age, I have enjoyed writing, escaping into fictional worlds and losing hours to reading books. I have a BA(hons) in English (UCE, 2003), a Postgraduate Certificate in Humanities (Creative Writing, Open University 2019) and an MA in Creative Writing (Open University, 2022) and work professionally as a writer and ghostwriter. I especially enjoy creating short stories, flash fictions and poetry. I am really interested in exploring the link between public health and creativity and have experience of facilitating writing groups for women.

Brum, it's Bin a While
Sonnet III·XI·MMXXV
Inspired by a combination of the epic nature of the Birmingham bin strikes and the person who went to a council meeting dressed as a rat, I wrote a Shakespearean sonnet about the bin strikes. You can read it here.
Along with an interview, it was also featured on BBC Upload and on all Midlands BBC radio stations in June 2026 - listen here

The Lone Wolf
Winner of Fairytalez Best Villain 2018.
Placing first in this competition inspired me to embark upon an MA in Creative Writing. I have edited/ amended the original version slightly for publication on this website.
